Whatever their style, I approach each cake as a blank canvas, ready to be filled with their story. I sketch out preliminary designs, play with different flavor combinations, and experiment with unique decorative elements. It’s a collaborative process, with plenty of back-and-forth to ensure I capture the essence of my client perfectly.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to be a part of people’s most cherished moments. Whether it’s a couple’s wedding day, a child’s birthday bash, or a retirement party honoring a lifetime of hard work, cakes have a unique ability to elevate these celebrations and make them even more special.
Take, for instance, the time I created a towering, four-tier wedding cake for a couple who met at a rock climbing gym. The bride was an avid climber, so we adorned the cake with fondant rock formations and carabiners, while the groom’s love of craft beer inspired us to incorporate hop vines and miniature beer mugs. Every detail was a reflection of their shared passions and the journey that brought them together.
Or how about the birthday cake I made for a little girl who was obsessed with unicorns? I transformed a simple vanilla sponge into a magical, pastel-hued confection, complete with a fondant unicorn horn, edible glitter, and a rainbow of sprinkles. The look on her face when she saw it was absolutely priceless – pure, unadulterated wonder.
